Yes it haopens since youvare in 11th and may face difficulties in grasping fundamental for Advanced level problems from Mathematics.
You can surely do IIT And grab seat if you score well In jee Advanced in 10000 rank.

Focus mor eon NCERTbooks and RD sharma for Mathematics, solve all doubts. Revision is very important. By 12th grad eyou will understand all concepts and then appear for Mocks so you can gain competitive advantage. You will surley find it lot easier then.
