To get a career in astrophysics, you will have to first complete BSc degree in astronomy, astrophysics or physics and hence you may qualify for entry-level jobs in astrophysics.

Later if interested, you can do MSc degree in astrophysics which is required for most research assistant and consulting positions.

For higher studies you can also pursue Phd in the same to became theoretical astrophysicists or observational astrophysicists etc.

Some of the colleges offering this course at UG level are:

  • Osmania University
  • Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore
  • Institute of Fundamental Research, Tamil Nadu
  • Astrophysics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Pune.

Good Luck.
