If you are in any other branch than Computer Science now in your college than you can't change your branch to CSE after 2nd year.This is only possible after 1st year. And you can change your branch to CSE only if you have top in 1st year subjects with very good marks/CGPA .

Then there will be sliding procedure in your college. And also for that you must need a vacant seat in CSE branch. If no student left form CSE then even after getting top in college in 1st year you will not get promoted to CSE branch.

So you can check the sliding procedure of your college and check your marks also.But if have so interest in CSE then you must start programming languages and Data structures. After clearing the GATE exam , if you get a very good IIT then you can change your branch to CSE. But also this i s applicable to some branches only.

Your question is a bit awkward.According to our curriculum in India you can only change your branch after your First year.As you have mentioned you want to take computer Science after second year,it is not possible according to our colleges rules.To get more information about that please mention your college or individually clarify with your college officials regarding this.

Contrary to that you can side by side pursue Computer Science by learning programming and take participation in placement of software companies even being in any branch.
