Criteria for admission to B.E/B.Tech course vary from college to college. If you wish to take admission in IIITs, NITs, GFTIs, then you will have to qualify the JEE Main exam. Some state level exams are also conducted for admission to Engineering course like MHT CET. Some Universities/ colleges may conduct its own entrance test for admission.
So, it depend on the college in which you wish to take admission.
