Becoming a scientist is not that easy.you should put your full efforts for being a scientist. Here are the courses which will help you in becoming a scientist.

Bachelor courses,
  • Bachelor of science
  • B.TECH in relevant specialization like, in what field you want to be a scientist choose course according to it

Master courses,
  • Master of science
  • Tech in relevant field
.
You have many relevant courses to choose like,
  • Agronomist
  • Botanist
  • Geologist
  • Microbiologist
  • Marine biologist

After completing masters you can also persue PHD in relevant specialization.

Coming to salary, it depends on the level of education you have done, if you are PhD student then 20K is the starting package..if you are mater's student then 18k will be your package.
