Hi there!
UPSC exam pattern for IAS is conducted in three stages. To become an IAS, you have to pass all the stages with higher ranks.
PRELIMS:
Paper 1: consist of history, geography, political science, economics and current affairs. This paper carries 200 marks.
Paper 2: Consist of 200 marks. The major syllabus for this paper is English comprehension, communication skills, logical reasoning, general mental ability, problem solving skills, basic mathematics (Class 10 level)
MAINS:
After securing a qualifying rank in PRELIMS, you would be called for MAINS.
Qualifying Paper: This is just a qualifying paper of 300+300 marks and it is not credited in the merit rank. This paper is to test the writing capacity of the aspirants in English and any regional language. Only 33% marks is enough for qualify this paper
Paper 1: Essay writing (250 marks)
Paper 2: GS1 Consists of History, Geography, Indian Heritage and culture, women empowerment.
Paper 3: GS2 Consist of Governance, Constitution, Social justice, polity, international relations
Paper 4: GS3 Technology, Economy, Bio-diversity, Environmental issues, disaster management
Paper 5: GS4 Case studies on ethics and human interface, moral and political attitude, Aptitude for Civil services, emotional intelligence.
Paper 6: Consist of Optional paper 1 and 2, each of 250 marks. Optional paper 1 tests for the subject of your interest, which may or may not be your graduation subject. Optional paper 2 tests for grammar and literature of any regional language.
MAINS constitute 1750 marks for the six papers. A qualifying rank will call you for the interview, which again constitute 275 marks.

Hello Ritik, for this Year IAS exam is conducted in three parts.
IAS prelims
IAS mains
IAS Personality test
IAS prelim will have two papers for 400 marks. In this paper questions will be objective.
In IAS mains again two papers will be there. First will based on two languages, from which one is english and other language is of candidate choice. Second paper will be objective type question.
IAS personality test will be of 270 marks. It will include interview also.
