Yes, you can get a good percentile in JEE mains once you are done with the previous year's paper but you need to make sure that you are done with the basics first. Because without that you will gonna find difficulty in solving mock tests. Or you can do one more thing as after you take a mock test, try to analyze the whole of the test and tighten up that topic which stuck you in the test.

Don't be much tensed. To get good marks in JEE Mains you need to solve previous year's question papers because you will know the model of questions asked and can have idea about it and can make yourself prepare well for exam.
Also you need to give mock tests or can solve sample question papers to check how much you are ready for the exam.
