KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is conducted for admission into various professional courses like engineering, pharmacy, etc. in Karnataka.
In KCET, there is no concept of individual subject passing marks like in board exams. The marks you get in each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology) are just added up to calculate your total KCET score .
So yes, if you get 15 marks in Physics and 15 marks in Chemistry, you have technically "scored" in those subjects , and it will be counted in your overall KCET total.
But remember, scoring just 15 out of 60 in each subject is considered very low if you're aiming for good colleges or competitive courses like engineering, veterinary, or pharma.
There is no minimum cutoff per subject , but your total marks matter a lot when it comes to ranking and college allotment.
Apart from KCET scores, your 2nd PUC/12th standard marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths/Biology also carry weightage (usually 50% KCET + 50% board marks for engineering courses).
So even if you score low in KCET, a good 2nd PUC performance can balance your rank to an extent.
If you're just aiming to “pass” KCET, then yes, 15 marks in Physics and Chemistry is still counted , and you are not disqualified .
But if your goal is to get into a top college or specific branch , then you might need to prepare better or even try again next year for a higher score.
