You can clear the back in upcoming semester if you have got the back upto 5 subjects. The main point is that you have to study that respective along with your going subjects. If you once clear the back it will not affect you career much. But if you get the back in 6 subjects then you will have to repeat the whole semester and it will be shown on your marksheet so yeah it will affect your career.
