For 12th std school determines which subject to be introduced in the syallbus and many a times subject like computer science are not included in the syallbus.  Don't worry no need to panic if you have not studied this subject before. You can still join for computer science or electrical engineering. 

When you join engineering,  1st yeat syallbus is same for all branchs.  

Following are some of the 1st year subject werein all the engineering students have to study compulsory

1. Engineering Maths

2. Applied Physics

3. Applied chemistry

4. Engineering Mechanics

5. Information Technology

6. Basic Electrical Engineering

7. Basic Electronics engineering

So you will study the basics of computer science and electrical in your 1st year. 

So go ahead join the branch of your choice. 

Try to get into IITs or NITs

If you have taken IT , computer science and electronics in your HSC , you can still opt form B.Tech in computer science or electrical streams.

The choice of stream solely depends on the score and rank in your etrance exams . So, if you want your desired brach of engineering in a pretitous college prepare well for your entrance exams along with the HSC .
