Hello,

The validity period of EWS (Economically Weaker Section) is one year. Your EWS Certificate will be valid till one year from the date of issue. Suppose you got your EWS Certificate on April 20th, 2021 then your EWS Certificate will be valid till April, 2022. There is no concept of year 2020 if you Certificate has been issued in the year 2021.
