The career as a journalist is filled with excitement as well as responsibilities. One cannot afford to miss out on the details. As it is the small details that provide insights in a story. Depending on those insights a  journalist goes about writing a news article.

You can opt for B.J. (Bachelor of Journalism), B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) Journalism, B.M.M. (Bachelor of Mass Media), B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication, B.A. in Journalism and Mass Media, B.A. in Journalism and Communication Studies to be a journalist.

Hi

Travel Journalism is a very niche' and creative career. You have to be an explorer and a good writer, which is kind of crafty. You would be required to explore places, describe them along with fascinating photographs and convince readers to visit the place. You need to be impressive and expressive with your words. You would be required to develop a story with words so powerful yet simple that you can make the readers imagine themselves at the place they are reading about. It requires skills of words, photographs, and as a planner to present an itinerary.
Apparently, there is no specialisation as Travel journalism offered by institutes, you can opt for a specialised Degree in Journalism. This will let you explore your writing capabilities, challenge you to explore language and communication skills, and will teach you to write for different mediums. You can also go for a degree in Mass Comm, wherein you would expand your knowledge base across other subject areas. Some of the top institutes, both UG and PG, to pursue your degree are,

Asian College of Journalism, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Xavier's Institute of Communication, Symbiosis International University, Delhi University, GGS IP University, Amity University, Jamia Millia Islamia.

Each of the University has its own entrance exam to shortlist applicants. You can apply in any of the institutes depending on your preference for the programme.
