Use the name from your marksheet while registering for NEET. If Aadhaar details differ, provide another valid ID (passport, PAN, voter ID) during verification.

If your Aadhaar card name is different from your marksheet name and you don’t have enough time to update it before NEET registration, follow these steps:

1. Use Your Marksheet Name

While filling out the NEET application form, enter the name exactly as it appears on your 10th or 12th marksheet because educational documents are the primary basis for verification.

2. Provide an Alternative ID

If your Aadhaar name differs, you can use another government-issued ID, such as:

PAN Card

Voter ID

Passport

Ration Card

3. Submit an Affidavit (If Required)

Some institutions allow submission of an affidavit stating that both names belong to the same person.

You can get an affidavit made by a notary mentioning the discrepancy and submit it during verification if required.

4. Update Aadhaar After Registration

Once you have registered for NEET, apply for Aadhaar correction to avoid future issues in counseling and admission.

You can still register for NEET using your marksheet name and an alternative ID. Just ensure that your documents match during final verification to prevent complications.

If your Aadhaar Card name differs from your marksheet and you don't have time to update your Aadhaar card before NEET registration, you should contact the NEET NTA helpline immediately to discuss your situation and explore potential solutions, which might include providing a supporting affidavit explaining the discrepancy while registering with your current Aadhaar details; however, it's crucial to try and update your Aadhaar card as soon as possible to avoid complications during document verification.

  • Contact NTA helpline:

Reach out to the NEET National Testing Agency (NTA) helpline to inquire about the best course of action in your specific situation.

  • Affidavit option:

You might need to prepare an affidavit explaining the discrepancy between your Aadhaar card name and marksheet details.

  • Document verification concerns:

Even if you register with the current Aadhaar details, be prepared for potential issues during document verification at the time of admission.

  • Update Aadhaar ASAP:

While registering, try to initiate the process of updating your Aadhaar card at the nearest enrolment centre to rectify the name mismatch as soon as possible.
