It is your wish to take a drop and prepare for exams or appear this year only. I would suggest you to appear for the exam this year only, prepare well for the exam and work smartly to  score a good rank and get seat.

The difficulty level of VITEEE is generally perceived as moderate. If your basic concepts of class 11th and 12th are clear, you can appear for the exam. Solve sample papers to have an idea about the type of questions asked in the exam, difficulty level of the exam, etc.

If you wish to take a drop then you can prepare for other engineering exams like JEE Main.

Hiii

Paras droping a year for VITEEE is totally not worth it . Instead if you were to drop a year for getting a seat in IIT/IIIT/NIT/DCE or any other goverment and top rated engineering institution it would make your year drop a justifiable one . Please take life decisions carefully . Year drops are even considered a probe if you are applying for an MBA or getting a job .
