Dear aspirant, if you're talking about JEE MAIN examination then if you pass the examination in the continue year that means the year you pass you 12th board it's fine otherwise you may take a year drop and prepare for the next year. There are 3 consecutive attempts a candidate have for appearing in JEE MAIN. But it's advisable to appear at most of 2 consecutive years not more than that .
