The Standard-Level Mathematics assesses higher Mathematical abilities compared to Basic-Level. Accordingly, the difficulty level of the Mathematics – ‘Basic’ is less than that of Mathematics-‘Standard’.

Mathematics-Standard is to be passed at class X, for taking up Mathematics at Sr. Secondary level i.e in class 12th. 

So if you  want to opt maths in future then you should go for standard maths otherwise if you want to take arts or medical science in future then you can freely choose basic Maths.
