For JEE Mains the allotment of seats is based on your CRL rank until you belong to general category.
If you belong to any other category, then your respective category is used for seat allotment.
So, while filling your priorities in JoSAA allotment process, be careful. First, check previous year cutoffs of your desired branch as per your category and then fill the form.
JoSAA provides category wise opening and closing ranks for all institutes under it, on their official website.
