There are many engineering colleges in India, where IITs are the top most engineering college, followed by some old NITs and Some State government colleges.

For engineering IITs are best for which you have to qualify JEE Advance. After that NIT are also best for which you have to be a top ranker in JEE Mains. These colleges provide industrial environment to students and the passed out graduate make their own business. They are self employmed. They can create career  themselves. Best option is IIT.
