Hi,
A Gram Panchayat is the lowest level of the Panchayati Raj system in India and works as the basic unit of rural local self-government. It is formed at the village level and includes elected members and a Sarpanch chosen by the people of the village. The Gram Panchayat looks after local development work such as roads, sanitation, drinking water, street lighting, implementation of government schemes, and solving minor local issues.
