Hi Madhavi

Greetings

No,the marks of 11th & 12th std have don't have any role in qualifying for the NEET entrance exam.

It completely depends to the marks and rank obtained in the NEET exam and later to the exam cutoffs.

But,the marks of the 10+2 is a criteria to be eligible for the NEET examination.

A candidate must passed their 10+2 in Physics Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology from a well recognised board.

The percentage requirement for NEET in PCB is as followed:

UR/EWS-50%
OBC/SC/ST- 40%
UR(PH)- 45%

Hello

No, neither of 11th nor 12th marks is considered for qualifying neet, neet cut off marks is purely on the marks obtained by you in neet examination, there's no 11th /12th marks weightage in neet examination .

Even your admission in mbbs etc is purely based on neet marks, 11th /12th marks have absolutely no role.

But yes,

Your 12th marks are important in order to make you eligible.

To be eligible for neet you need at least 50 % aggregate in pcb in 12th if you are from general category.

For your reference,

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

-------------------) Qualification required :-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible one must be either appearing for 12th board examination  or should have passed 12th board examination from any recognised board with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

†††Important Note :- Students with Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement over it.

-------------------)  Percentage required :- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible .

-------------------)  Age limit :-

  • Lower age limit:- to be eligible for neet  one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination .

  • Upper age limit :-There's no upper age limit for NEET. Earlier there was upper age limit  of 25 years which was pending in supreme court, on 9th march 2022 NMC in its notice has removed upper age limit.
