For the post of an Assistant professor in UGC aided Colleges, you should have cleared anyone among UGC NET/STET/SET. From 2021, a Candidate applying for the post of an Assistant Profession shall have an M.Phil/Ph.D done in a regular mode whose thesis has been successfully defended, viva conducted and cleared. But for now, a Candidate with a Master's degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% and has appeared for NET and qualified is eligible. You also  need to have a minimum 8 years of experience is mandatory. You can check the complete information at the official notificiation: https://www.ugc.ac.in/pdfnews/5323630_New_Draft_UGCRegulation-2018-9-2.pdf So if you meant a Physical test, it is either NET/SLET or SET and they are mandatory.
