Hamdard College of Pharmacy with diploma course was established in 1972 which was affiliated to Delhi Board of Technical Education. In 1973, B. Pharm. course was started under Delhi University. In 1982, M. Pharm. in Pharmacognosy was started. From 1986 M. Pharm. programme in all the four disciplines and simultaneously Ph.D. programme in all the disciplines was started. From 1997 self financing B. Pharm. course was started with 60 seats. In collaboration with Ranbaxy Research Laboratories, Department of Pharmaceutical Medicine was started in 1999 for Ph.D. programme in this discipline. It is a unique programme of its own kind in our country. The total students capacity of School is approximately 766 (166 in M. Pharm. and 600 in U.G.) excluding Ph. D. scholars. These courses are approved by AICTE and PCI.

The School has much infrastructural facility like bioinformatics Information centre, Nanomedicine lab, Bioactive natural products labs, Microbial and Pharmaceutical Technology lab., Neurobehavioral Pharmacology Lab., Advanced Chemistry Facilities lab and other state of art research laboratories.
