Madras Veterinary College is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, which does not require AIPVT entrance test for admission in its UG and PG courses. The admission is based on merit i.e. marks obtained in qualifying examination. For UG courses,  A pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2)/CBSE/any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto. University conducts its own admission exam for Ph.D. courses only. For PG courses, bachelor's in relevant subjects and marks obtained in it, are considered for admissions.
