Definitely, entrance exam is very necessary for admission. It brings uniformity in the education system and standardising it. 

It gives equal opportunity to all the students so that no bias occurs.

As you know the competition in today's world therefore there are entrance exams to many degrees and colleges

But in the end it depends where you are taking admission and in which course you are taking so that would have been better if you had mentioned the course and the place where you are taking admission
