Hey Srinivad,

No, B.E and B.Tech are not the same course.

Bachelor in Engineering (B.E) is a graduate level program and the course of this degree focuses on theoretical knowledge needed to innovate technology and make new technical gadgets. B.E. is considered a knowledge oriented course where more emphasis is given on the theoretical part of the curriculum.

Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) is also a graduate level program and the course of this degree focuses on application and skill based study and is useful if one is interested in modifying structures to enhance their quality. B.Tech is more skill oriented which gives more emphasis on practicals. Industrial visits and internship might be essential part of the curriculum .

Both the degress are equally valued during placements. What matters is from which institute you obtained your degree from.

Hope it helps. Good luck !

Dear Srinivas, In India, we have two types of colleges, one, those offering degrees in many fields like arts, science, business including engineering and are generally known as Universities, and the second, which offer degrees only in engineering and are generally known as Institutes. Universities that offer other degrees along with engineering named their engineering degree as B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) and Institutes providing professional courses like engineering named their engineering degree as B. Tech. (Bachelor of Technology).

All the best

Hope this helps
