Is btech or B.E best for aenautical engineering

B.Tech course is somewhat more practically intensive than the BE course which is more theoretical.The difference (which is quite minor) between the two degrees can be understood from their names itself, Engineering Vs. Technology.Engineering is a "science", dealing more with theoretical concepts & principles; technology deals more with the application of these theories for practical purposes. But, both B.E. & B.Tech courses offered by various engineering colleges/ institutes, have similar curriculum more or less. Both degrees are valued equally by prospective employers. What matters more is the reputation of the engineering college from where you obtain your B.E/ B.Tech degree.


Bachelor in Engineering is a graduate level program done directly after a student's 10+2. After a student's 12th exam, the candidate has to appear for any state or national level engineering entrance through which he or she will get admittance into an engineering college. The course of this degree focuses on theoretical knowledge needed to innovate technology and make new technical gadgets whereas,


Bachelor in Technology is also a graduate level program done directly after a student's 10+2. After a student's 12th exam, the candidate has to appear for any state or national level engineering entrance through which he or she will get admittance into a college that provides technology course. There are many such universities. The course of this degree focuses on application and skill based study and is useful if one is interested in modifying structures to enhance their quality.


B.E. is considered a knowledge oriented course where more emphasis is given on the theoretical part of the curriculum whereas, B. Tech is skill oriented which gives more emphasis on practicals.


Industrial visits and internship might be essential part of the curriculum in BE whereas, Industrial visits and internships are necessary for B. Tech courses.

Hi Sujith,

Although Aeronautical engineering appers in both B.E. and B.Tech both are similar professional courses, some differences can be pointed out when comparing the two based on their course material and itheir orientation.  B.E. is a more theoretical knowledge oriented course whereas B Tech is a practical knowledge-oriented program.
