Business economics is the study of the financial issues and challenges faced by the corporations. Business economics is a field in economics that deals with issues such as business organisations, management, expansion and strategy. Studies may include how and why corporation expands, the impact of entrepreneurs, the interactions between corporation and the role of government in regulation. 

Economics is a social science that studies how individuals, government,firms and nation make choices for allocations of resources to satisfy their unlimited needs.

On the basis of above definitions, an economist with a degree in economics should has a wider preparations on how individuals, government, firms and nation make choices for allocations of resources to satisfy their unlimited needs (macroeconomics) while an economist with a degree in Business Economics has a deep preparations in economics and financial issues and challenges faced by the corporation (microeconomics). 

The type of courses associated to the preparations of these type of economists are different due to the content of the courses. Degree in economics is more fundamental and economic than Degree in Business Economics.
