Hi Jithin,

Civil Engineering is surely a diverse and difficult branch in general. But, compared to other core branches in Indian colleges, it is considered to be one of the easiest and less hectic branchs. The only difficult part is Engineering Drawing as reported by most CE students. Otherwise, the course is pretty light and an average student might be able to pursue it. But, do not just base your decision on the diffficulty of the subject, focus on your interests and goals. Sometimes your passion can drive you to pursue the most difficult course in the world.

All the best.

Dear jithin,

Remember one thing, Nothing is 'hard' and nothing is 'easy'.

It's all relative. But I would say if you have not been the type of person who found maths, advanced maths, applied mechanics, physics and computer interesting as well as have a logical and rational thinking then you wont enjoy the civil engg classes mostly!

But if you decide to work for it nothing is impossible! It has nothing to do with beeing average or a scholar.Hardwork is what matters!

All the best!

Civil Engineering and Computer Science both are different field of engineering. where one is core of engineering and other is software engineering.core branch are more stable than software.core branch are not effected during the period of recession. where as software industry is fully depend on the market condition. so according to me core branch(civil) is better than software(computer).
