It is not at all necessary to give CMAT exam . There are a lot many exams for MBA entrance.  The exam you need to gove depends on the institute you wish to do MBA from . Every institute has different eligibility criteria and different exams needed. CAT is the most important exam as most of the institutes take up CAT score as the eligibility..

No, CMAT is not mandatory for admission into MBA colleges apart from the colleges that take CMAT as a criteria. You can get admission directly or in the best way through other entrances like CAT, XAT, IIFT, NMAT etc or even CMAT. The entrance exams are never compulsory but recommended.
