Dear Ajay, in every college there are some seats reserved for different categories. So, during the counselling your category rank will be considered.

For example a certain college has 10 seats reserved for OBC candidates. Then during the counselling you can only fight for those 10 seats. If your rank if better than the other OBC candidates then you will get the seat from those 10 seats.
