The one Year DNS Course is a course leading to B.Sc., Nautical Science after 18 months of sea service and also leading to 2nd Mate Foreign going Certificate of competency awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, enabling the candidates to become Navigating officers on board Merchant Naval Ships anywhere in the world. The one year Diploma in Nautical Science Course is strictly residential.

In Dns you are a bit away from studies and then again start preparing for your functions rather in BSc you can complete 3 years studies and 12 or 6 months seatime not confirm about 12 or 6 .and then appear for you orals.
