Economically weaker section (EWS) and Economically backward class (EBC) are synonyms terms in India. The eligibility to get EBC certificate is purely based on annual income and the limit has been set by the respective state government in which a person is domiciled.

hello abhiram, the EWS quote is of 10% which is specially for the unreserved category in JEE. as you have alreday mentioned EBC, it is not possible to avail the quota.
