Yes why not and even if you want to do engineering afterwards you can study eco as an optional subject in class 12th. And if you found yourself getting indulged into the subject you might take it as a career option in future. You can go into LLB, CA, CS or you can simply persu BA hons in economic from any reputed government college the options are many and so do the opportunity in the field.
