The Fundamentals of Engineering(FE) is also referred to as Engineering to Training(EIT)  and FE exam is a necessary part of becoming a Professional engineer, taking FE exam comes at a price -$225 to be exact and only registered professional engineers can perform engineering consulting work which requires passing 6 hours,110 questions via CBT(Computer-based test/It may cost you $225) and  the FE exam is given nationwide each year in four testing windows during the following months: January, February, April, May, July, August, October, and November, and the NCEES policy allows examinees to take the FE exam once  during any two-month testing window, and no more than three times in a twelve-month period.
