Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU)' is the former 'Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU)'.Before AKTU its name was UPTU (uttar Pradesh technical university) and before UPTU its name was GBTU (gautam Buddha technical university). This name changed according to the state government of uttar Pradesh.
