Dear Aswin

IEEE stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. It is famous for it's worldwide held conferences, workshops, audits and higher domain industrial linkages. Any student from any technical stream can register for IEEE membership. However, since you are talking about chemical engineering department, I would like to suggest some good colleges with very good placements:

1. Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

2. Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

3. Anna University

4. Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, Maharashtra
