A Technical vocational subject is a course which is not purely academic(like physics or chemistry) but which involve learning of technical skills and practical knowledge which will be useful for a particular job. The course syllabus is designed such as to concentrate more on workforce. Informatics is a broad field which is based on researching new information to help solve issues pertaining to other fields like medicine, physiology, biology, IT, etc.It requires working knowledge of computer system and peripeherals as well as techniques like statistical analysis and data analysis. The course further helps in gaining skills in Database Creation and querying using ANSI SQL. As the course prepares the student for a job in computer field, it is a technical vocational subject.

I.P is a technical vocational subject offered as choice as a fifth or a sixth subject to the students going to standard 11. In this subject you will be learning the basics about the computer (hardware and software), java coding and database management system (DBMS) spread across the two years, that is, in standard 11 and 12.
