Chennai campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is quite newer and less recognised than the other campuses i.e. Bengaluru, Amritapuri and Coimbatore. Most of the the negative reviews you have came across must be regarding the infrastructure facilities and comparatively new  faculties but do remember that the institution follows a strict curriculum with regular webinars and hackathons being conducted. Chennai campus is pretty similar to coimbatore campus in exception of infrastructure and facilities . Coming to the placements all the campus placements are same, every campus student will be coming to the coimbatore and they will be giving their interviews.It's basically a very new campus all the lab equipments are not fully equipped,the strength is not more.

So it is totally worth the money as you will get to study in one of the premium universities of India and you will be no short of opportunities due to joint placements at Coimbatore campus. Also not to forget that Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham ranks under top 5 University rankings released by MHRD in the latest NIRF rankings that is not possible without the combined efforts and performance of all the sister campuses.
