CSE is better. Reason being they learn both the software and the hardware aspect whereas IT is more concentric towards Software part. Which is why under general scenario cse grads get better placement offers than IT.If you have got options then opting CSE is better. However in the terms of core subjects, both streams are quite similar. Even in the terms of placements almost most of the colleges allow IT guys to sit with CSE ones.
