As both the courses are good in their own way .It depend person to person and thier interest.

If you are the person having interest in applied science and also good in math as well then you are one who  can go for research stream. 

On the other hand if you are the one who want to go for some particular field i.e intrest in coding whereas not have intrest in applied science and other reasearch related subject.
