it is not compulsory to attend both exams jee mains paper 1 and paper 2

it depends on the interest of the candidates if a candidate want to go in the stream of engineering those candidates can apply for jee mains paper 1 and those candidates who are interested in architecture those candidates can apply for the jee mains paper 2 and who are interested in both exams in attempting those candidates can apply for both

yes it is mandatory to give both the papers of jee advancedand it becomes necessary to attempt both in order to get an iit. your attendance would be taken in both of the papers. feel free to ask any doubts in the comments section.

Hello, hope you are doing well, yes it is compulsory to attend both paper 1 and paper 2 of JEE Advanced exam, otherwise, you could not get your result. And moreover, you need to acquire minimum qualifying marks in both the exams.
