Its totally depends on the colleges to colleges. Top Colleges(NIFT) usually conduct entrance exam for admission while private college will give you admission on the basis of your marks.

NIFT entrance exam is a national level test that is conducted by National Institute of Fashion Technology for admissions to Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fashion Technology programmes offered across 16 NIFT campuses across India.
