Yes it is important to fill compartment form for any subject not only maths ,if you are failed in one of the subject from your course which is mathematics for you.I f you do not fill the form and pass the exam,then you will be declared fail in 12th boards as per the norms of the school.After passing compartment you can also apply for the improvement exam in which you can increase your marks of all subjects.I hope it helped
