It is not necessary to apply for IIITs in JOSAA counselling for you to be notified about it aor be able to participate in it. You simply need to qualify the JEE Mains exam and then you will be able to participate in it.

Some additional information about JEE Mains:

JEE Mains is an annual exam that is conducted by the National Testing Agency and the CBSE for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other institutes. It also serves as the first stage for admission to IITs through JEE Advanced.

EWS is a new category that has been created by the MHRD for economically weaker sections. 10% seats will be reserved for those candidates whose annual family income is less than INR 8 lakh per annum.
