As you have not given the name of your college, so It would be difficult to tell if your college allows it or not. But, in India most of the colleges give an opportunity to the student to upgrade his/her branch to a better one given you satisfy the minimum mark criteria which are put up by every college separately. So yes I most probably your college would also allow you to change your branch if you score good in your first year.

It epends on your college rules. But most of the colleges in India will allow you to change the branches after the first year and Nits and Iiits may vary. So I could helps you more precisely if you could say about your college. But to answer on a an average I can say that you can change your branch.

Since you are already in a college pursuing B. Tech. You will have to contact your department of examination and administration for the information on changing stream.
