     The only difference in CAT and XAT is that tough basically similar like any other entrance exam for MBA, XAT conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur has sections on essay and story writing. So you need to prepare for your grip in English language and put a little extra effort.

On a broader perspective, preparing for CAT will suffice the preparation for XAT. If your coaching institute does not have specific XAT coaching, I suggest you to solve all the XAT previous years' papers. Solving the papers and making the deatiled analysis of them will help you a lot. 

So do not worry if your coaching does not provide XAT preparation. Self-study in the form of solving as many XAT papers as possible will be beneficial to you.

XAT has a bit higher Level of difficulty as perceived by the majority MBA aspirants. Also, there is a slight change in the pattern of the examination but the basics of both the exam remain the same.

So, I would recommend you to prepare for XAT along with CAT by attempting XAT Mocks and trying to solve previous or model question papers of XAT.

Try to Practice questions of similar difficulty. And you'll be able to get through.

The best part about XAT is that majority of the population don't register or appear for the exam due to the perceived LOD. So a well-prepared candidate has more chances.
