If you are talking about appearing in josa counselling that means you qualified your jee mains exam.
First of all never back of from the counseling yourself. Try everywhere you want to go.

Secondly there are high chances that you get into some lower NITs or some govt. Colleges which is going to be great.

The counseling will allow you to look forward and there are high chances that you might get a good college. So go for it.
