Is JoSAA counselling only valid for those who have qualified at least in JEE MAINS....? if yes, then how will the non qualifiers of JEE MAINS know which college is open for them through their JEE MAINS percentile??

Jee mains qualification means that you are eligible to give the Jee advanced exam. It is not necessary for you to have a rank under the mains cutoff to be eligible to apply for jossa counselling. Cutoffs for jee mains 2020 are

Eligibility criteria for jossa counselling is

  • Candidates have received a rank in the jee mains exam no matter they are eligible for jee advanced paper or not

  • Candidates must have qualified Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of either Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject as optional subject

    Apply to MAHE, Manipal - B.Tech Admissions 2026

  • In order to get admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, general category candidates must have secured minimum 75% aggregate marks while reserved category candidates must have secured at least 65% marks

Hello,

Here's eligibility criteria for JoSAA counseling.

  • Candidates are required to score higher marks than the cutoff of JEE Main 2020 for Paper

  • Candidates must have qualified Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of either Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject as optional subject

  • In order to get admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, general category candidates must have secured minimum 75% aggregate marks while reserved category candidates must have secured at least 65% marks

You cannot appear in JoSAA counseling if you haven't clear JEE mains and if you want admission in any private college then you can get it directly based on your JEE mains marks.
