Honestly speaking ,  B pharm student doesn't need a laptop for his studies. You will need a laptop during final year for project/ thesis work and for seminar/ presentations which require MS office.

However today  Android mobiles can compensate laptop. You can install all necessary apps in your Android phone such as MS Word, MS Exceel

You may need laptop in B pharm though it's not like without laptop you will not complete the course but there are ppts, projects and online studies are there so laptop will help you. In final year thesis submissions, project works are there for that you'll have to go to cyber cafe so laptop is beneficial nowadays.
