According to the National Commission for Minority Education Institution Act, a minority institution means a college or institution established or maintained by a person or group of person from amongst the minority. This minority may be linguistic or religious minority in the country. These minority institutes offer admissions to students belonging to their minority category from local region as well as from other parts of the country.

So, in case of a Muslim minority medical college too, seats will be reserved for Muslim minority students of the local area and also from other parts of the country.
